BlueLandscape · Bank accounts & transactions
Stop retyping bank lines into a spreadsheet.
Register your bank accounts, import MT940 statements — the standard export format from most Dutch banks — and every booked line lands in one filterable, exportable transaction ledger you can annotate for your own bookkeeping.
Free, included with your account — no separate subscription.
How it works
Two steps to a full transaction ledger
1. Register a bank account
Add a name, IBAN, currency, and optional provider label. It shows up immediately in the transactions filter.
2. Import your MT940 statement
Upload the .mt940 / .mta / .940 file your bank exports. Booking date, amount, counterparty, and description are parsed automatically; duplicate lines (same date, amount, and reference) are skipped.
A worked example
A freelance designer closing out a month
A freelance designer downloads her business account's MT940 export at the end of the month — 38 booked lines, including a client payment that already matches an open invoice. She uploads the file once: 36 new lines land in the ledger, 2 are skipped as duplicates from a statement she'd already imported the week before, and the client payment shows up with a "Best match" badge against invoice #INV-0042 because both the amount and the invoice number in the description line up. One click on Confirm match and the invoice is settled — no manual reconciliation, no re-typing the amount.
What you get
One ledger, all accounts
Every imported line is newest-first, filterable by account. "All accounts" is the default view.
Notes on any line
Add a free-text note to any transaction for your own bookkeeping context. Stored server-side, visible next time you open it.
CSV export, up to 10,000 rows
Export all visible rows — respecting an active account filter — as a spreadsheet-compatible CSV. Narrow the date range if a filtered set runs larger.
Feeds the cash-flow overview
Every imported transaction rolls straight into the cash-flow overview — no separate export or import step.
Frequently asked questions
What file format do I need to export from my bank?
MT940 — the standard export format from most Dutch banks. Upload a .mt940, .mta, or .940 file and BlueLandscape parses the booking date, amount, counterparty, and description automatically.
Will importing the same statement twice create duplicate transactions?
No. A line is skipped whenever its date, amount, and reference already match an existing transaction, so re-uploading an overlapping statement is safe.
Can I get my transactions back out as a spreadsheet?
Yes, CSV export respects whichever account filter is active. It's capped at 10,000 rows per export — for a larger range, narrow the date filter and export in batches.
Does it automatically match transactions to invoices?
For an unmatched incoming line, BlueLandscape suggests open invoices ranked by three reasons — amount matches, the invoice number appears in the transaction text, or the buyer's name does. Confirming a match settles the invoice; it can be undone any time.
Is there a cost per import or per transaction?
No. Bank accounts, MT940 import, and the transaction ledger are free and bundled with every account — no separate subscription, no per-line fee.
